Life has been pretty uneventful for me lately. i've mostly been working so far this summer. Brandi and i actually managed to get a day off together on friday, so we decided to spend a day at the beach. apparently the weatherman lies because it was supposed to thunderstorm but it was a perfect day. it's funny how doing nothing at the beach is more fun than doing nothing anywhere else. i spent the whole day with Brandi and i had a wonderful time, she makes me laugh. i really needed that, pac sun is so draining sometimes. we got to lay around on the beach, hit the boardwalk, check out houses that we can hopefully rent later in the summer, and we found this mug she's been looking for at target. the mug thing might seem minor but we went all over the place looking for this thing, it became something of a mission after a while, and i was really happy she finally got it. i'm really jealous of kids that got to grow up at the beach, it's way more interesting than boring ass kop. they have the beach, what do we have, the mall?

i'm working six days the week, so if you need me i'll probably be at that mall of ours. later.

11:34 pm - summer so far
i have been relaxing for the most part. spending lots of time laying around with brandi. i'm not working too much yet which is cool with me. the end of school was brutal, so i couldn't be happier to get done. i haven't really done much with the past week, i have just be so happy to finally do nothing.

brandi's funny, we have been going on runs together in the mornings and the other day we kept coming across caterpillars in the running path. she always stopped and we helped them off to the grass. eventually we decided to take three home and then we built them a nice little habitat to live in. she's adorable like that.

otherwise, the band is doin pretty well. its fun, i like the music. however, i'm having a feeling that this will be another tourless summer. i really wanna get out there but i think its a little late to pull anything too big together. i'm pretty bummed out about it. maybe we'll get a little something together either before or after the nsdwoah tour. we shall see.

anyway, i hope everyone's summer is going pretty well so far. later.

1:11 pm - yo y'all, listen up...
I dropped my phone really bad yesterday, so its kinda fucked. i'm not really that distrught about it because it is a huge piece, and this will give me an excuse to shell out some money and get a new one(finally, no more zack morris phone). it kinda still works but not that well, so if you have tried or are going to try to call me in the very near future, im not ignoring you. i'm gonna go by cingular tonight and try to get a new phone/phone plan. everything should be cool after that.

peace out,
-Dave

10:13 am - guess who woke up an hour early
that would be me. so, since i have an appreciable amount of free time for the first time in a while, i thought i might write something. a lot has gone on since i last updated. there was valentine's day with Brandi, which was glorious. she got me a flask set, it is very cool. we hung out and made food, it was nice. things with her are great, i'm a lucky guy. she makes me smile.

other than that, school is ass busy. marketing reserach is the toughest class ever. the prof is cool but its just way too much work. next monday i finally get to see my advisor to find out when im graduating, and therefore what i should do about living and all that stuff for the next however long. speaking of which, i'm moving out of my place next sunday. i came in 6 months into the lease and now its over with. it's a bummer but i am really poor right now and moving home for a little while should make me less poor. i may have a party next friday or saturday, just because i feel like it. i'll decide for sure and tell everyone in a few days.

apparently after the last show we played someone(i'm not entirely sure who) accused us of stealing their mics. they did it on pahardcore, without even asking us about it, which is what all the cool people do. i believe that they turned out to be Normandy's mics anyway, and they took them home. oh.....needless drama.

alright, im gonna go find something to do with my morning. peace.

2:21 am - i'm back suckers
we finished our "tour" two days ago. all else failed and the minor times are ridiculously good bands and really good dudes. though it wasn't as lengthy as it was supposed to be, they made this experience really pleasant. it was my pleasure and honor to share the stage with them. i hope we get the chance to do it again sometime.

i'm not big on putting lyrics in here but this one all else failed song, route 1, that's so good, i just feel like posting them up.

one man faces forward
while the other sits silent and still
we both lose

one path, two directions
both end in separation
we both lose
we both saw this coming

three things, three separate things:
what we want
what we need
and what we get
...this is what we get.

that band's dedication to their music really helped me to regain faith that something good can emerge from the scene.

12:06 am - January 5th show moved
Our show with All Else Failed, The Minor Times, Waking Judea, and Nehemia has been MOVED FROM THE TRIBECCA TO THE PAUL GREEN SCHOOL OF ROCK IN DOWNINGTOWN. Show starts at 8, and all these bands are really excellent. If anyone wants to come out, this should be fun. I promise we won't suck or anything.

Anyway, we're a couple days into our sorta tour, and its fun but i wish it was longer. more later.

11:35 pm - Now I'm bummed
Contrary to what I had previously thought, instead of the doors opening for our show tomorrow at 5, we go on at 5. Which, in and of itself it no big deal. I don't mind that we are opening the show at all. What is bumming me out however is that we have to be there at 3, and Brandi won't be getting off from work until 3. I feel so bad because she scheduled herself to work that early just to come to the show and now we have to be long gone before she gets out. It just makes me feel like shit because I want her to come to the show and she was going out of her way to be able to and now it's not gonna work out. I have no clue how to get to the venue, and I wouldn't want her driving down there by herself and I'm sure she wouldn't want to either.

I just found out what time we had to be there from Brian. I don't want to call her now because i'm afraid she might be sleeping. Shit. I hate when stuff like this happens. I better get goin, i've sick all week and i could use some sleep.

I turned 21 last week. I'm old now. This weekend was fun. We partied. I'm sickish now, i hate being sick. The guys picked up the van last night. It has some problems but nothing major. Finals are starting. I don't like finals all that much. I'm kinda writing like Ernest Hemingway. Short, concise sentences and all.

We're playing at the Tribecca Sunday at 5 p.m. You should come. Yes, you. Mercury Switch, psyopus, and stray from the path are playing. Nite.

1:17 pm - i saw something funny/annyoing just now
i'm a johnny cash fan. i'm not a country music fan however, it may seem strange but to me johnny=good country=bad. i don't really like country fans either. so i was looking to find out which album this song "the man comes around" was on and i came across this random website. i wasn't sure what it was but it just started playing the song and a slide show to go along with it, so i sat their and watched. as it got further i figured out that it was some nut job's pro-bush diatribe to the world. on the site he edited the song down (badly), and tried to say that everyone that didn't follow bush was evil (especially islamic people) and he seemed to be suggesting that the "man" from the song's title was bush. the thing is that the song is about the apocolypse and the "man" is Death.

i really hate stupid people that try to fuck up good music.

Brandi just took my out for Japanese food. She insisted on paying, what a cutie. the food was good, i really like that restuarant and i haven't been there in a couple years. then we snuggled, and it was good. i love her.

there are some random times when i really like my major. right now im writing a marketing research paper on Hurley International. it's going to take a while but at least i'm somewhat interested in the subject matter.

COME SEE THINGS FALL APART on SATURDAY! we're gonna play the school of rock in downingtown with mercury switch, Normandy, and the divining.

i feel like i'm forgetting something....i'll update later if i can remember.

brandi is over at lacrosse practice right now. i know she's a good player and i have faith in her abilities, so i think she'll do fine. im just worried, i hope she doesn't let the whole thing psych her out, i really want her to succeed. i was bummed that i didnt get to see her before she headed over there, it was getting late and i didn't want to make her late for her appointment with the coach. im excited to hear how it went when she's done in a couple hours.

that's all for now. peace.

8:48 pm - check out this site:
www.feelinganxious.com

it's a new site that does music reviews, interview, giveaways, etc. on a wide variety of styles. our good buddy Aly writes for it, and i think Dan mcnanney might be starting to as well. basically, it's a pretty cool site, and it's brand spankin' new and needs all the support it can get. it's run by some good hearted, red blooded american youths, it's not some corporate thing. so if you've got a minute, check it out. thanks.

today i gained a newfound respect for my roommate. his car wouldn't start this morning because the battery in his car alarm was dying and the killswitch wouldn't let him start the car. so, since it's been pouring all day, he asked me for a ride to work. so i drove him, no big deal. later, i thought to myself...how is he gonna get home because i'll be at school and i dont think public transportation is that good up in northwest philly. so, he strolls in a little after 6, looking like he just got out of a pool, and told me he walked the 6 or so miles through the straight GHETTO to get back here. nicely done, john.

i'll update for real later.
